How Olive Oil Keeps You Young

13 December 2008 No Comment

In countries where olive oil is used as the primary oil or fat, such as Spain, Greece and Italy, the incidents of cancer are lower than in other countries, such as those in Northern Europe. Olive oil prevents arterial sclorosis, improves the functions of the stomach and pancreas, is easily digested, contains no cholesterol, improves metabolism, protects and tones the skin, and improves absorption of calcium and other minerals. Can you think of a reason to keep using corn oil?

The Mediterranean diet, which uses plenty of extra virgin olive oil, is compatible with healthy aging and long life. Olive oil is a fountain of healthy fatty acids and vitamins A, D, K, and E. It’s a powerful antioxidant…and that’s another word for anti-aging.

Olive oil can be used “raw” on foods, but can also be used for cooking and frying, as its properties remain intact at high temperatures. So fry away with olive oil!

Olive oil has also been used in beauty products for centuries, due to its high amounts of vitamins A and E, which work to reduce wrinkles and hydrate dry skin, giving it more shine and elasticity. They also revitalize hair and restore shine and silkiness.

Welcome one of aging’s best friends into your kitchen and your beauty cabinet…olive oil!
